Will Zynga Leave Facebook?

GadgetInfo - Zynga, the largest game developer on Facebook reportedly preparing to move all of its games from Facebook to the service called Zynga Live. Zynga has even already started the preparation by launching farmville.com site.

This seems to be a part of efforts to end Zynga dependence on Facebook. Until now, Zynga is still vulnerable to rules issued by Facebook.

Last issue, Facebook requires the use of Facebook Credit as the only currency of payment for Zynga and other application developers. Facebook also set 30% fee for every transaction using Facebook Credit.

Quoted from TechCrunch, the relationship between Zynga and Facebook now are more and more heated. Facebook tried to persuade Zynga to sign long-term agreement whereby Zynga remained in Facebook. During the process of negotiations, Facebook seems to be forcing Zynga to sign the agreement.

Besides threatening to close all Zynga games, Facebook had once shut down prior notification to Farmville and other games.

For some Facebook users, a popular game such as Zynga Farmville, Poker and Mafia Wars are an integral part of Facebook. December last year, Farmville game on Facebook registered more than 69 million users.

Some analysts said the Farmville able to attract millions of users because it can be played on Facebook. This game is quite addictive so users will still play it even though Zynga moved it from Facebook. But will Farmville remain as attractive as now?

Adobe Gave Up on Apple

WASHINGTON, GadgetInfo - Because of the future is unclear, the Flash development for iPhone and iPad finally stopped. Adobe has gave it up and announced that they would withdraw all investment plans to bring Flash on devices made by Apple.

"The main purpose of Flash is to support development in all browsers, platforms, and devices. This is very opposite to the Apple plan. They want to force the developers into their platform and limit the choice so the results will be hard to be run on other platforms," said Mike Chambers, Adobe Flash product development manager, in his blog.

Adobe took the decision not long after Apple released a new policy for developers of iPhone and iPad. Applications on the iPhone and iPad must be made with the programming language that is permitted by Apple, such as C + + or Objective C. If that new rule implemented, it will disable all applications for iPhone that currently use the Adobe Packager code to run Flash.

Bad relations between Apple and Adobe were triggered by the Flash problem. Apple CEO Steve Jobs had even said that Adobe is lazy for not seriously developing Flash for its platforms. On the other hand, Adobe said Apple is ironic for not accepting Flash which is already used by most people. Instead of Flash, Apple encourages other alternative standards, such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.

OSLO, GadgetInfo - Apple finally agreed to Opera Mini for iPhone to be displayed in the App Store. Previously, Opera had worried that the application is not accepted because Apple prohibits this for a browser application or another application which that is already available by default on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

In fact, Opera makes a counter on its Web site to record how long Opera Mini will be approved by Apple. Opera Mini prototype for iPhone was first introduced at Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Spain, and was registered to the App Store on March 23, 2010.

Opera Mini finally approved by Apple on April 12, 2010 after more than 20 days since registration. Further applications will be available in the App Store starting that day and can be used freely.

Although it has been worried, Opera optimistic that Mini Opera for Apple's iPhone will be accepted. Because, technically it does not break the SDK (software development kit) provided by Apple. When it used for accessing the internet, Opera Mini does not run the process on the iPhone device but giving commands on the Opera server. Opera server will perform all processes and sends the requested data with very high compression. Opera Mini is claimed capable of compressing data up to 90 percent, so it will cost savings and faster internet access for iPhone users.
