BlackBerry OS 6 Launch on Third Quarter of 2010

ORLANDO, GadgetInfo - Research In Motion (RIM) officially announced the launch plan of Blackberry OS 6, the latest operating system being developed, starting from the upcoming third quarter. The announcement was stated by Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO of RIM, in Orlando, Florida, United States, ahead of the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2010.

The main change that made on the BlackBerry OS 6 is the ability of its web browser. The new browser promises to give a faster access speed, can open more than one web page simultaneously, and supports the zoom function by finger touch (pinch to zoom) at the touch sailing products.

Rendering engine will be planted in the platform so that the web processing is no longer fully performed in RIM's servers, but is also done on the mobile phone. However, reportedly this feature which supported by a WebKit is a component of the BlackBerry OS 6 so there is the possibility can not be used on earlier OS versions.

Mike Lazaridis only mention that OS 6 will be used in all next products. However, for the BlackBerry that already been on the market, the WebKit may cannot be used.
