"Yes, the rumor is true. I am resigning from the Oracle last week (April 2)," said James Gosling in his new blog www.nighthacks.com, Friday (9/4/2010). He admitted that it’s hard to explain why he quits the Oracle, so he just says that doing something accurate and honest could make things worse.
However, one thing for sure is that after he’s out of Oracle now he can be free to blog again. All blog content that he ever writes in Sun is now transferred to his new blog because according to Sun policy all contents in blog posts is the author right.
He apologized to everyone who attended the TechDays event in St Petersburg, Russia on the previous Thursday. Supposedly, Gosling became one of the speakers who were always waited by Java developers.
Gosling said that someday he might find a new job. However, he admitted that he haven’t got any plans yet so far except to rest for a while before starting to work again.
Born in Calgary, Canada, May 19, 1955, James Gosling graduated from the Computer Science of Calgary University in 1977. He later earned his PhD in the same major from Carnegie Mellon University. Before joining Sun, Gosling has made some software such as NeWS and Emacs. However, what made him so famous is when he created the Java programming language.
